Oh
[Music]
Oh
[Music]
hello and welcome to off the shelf
reviews I'm one of only two men who can
make doves cry and I'm Gary and today
we're going to review and discuss Purple
Rain you see her Purple Rain came out in
1984 was directed by Albert Magnolia who
you might remember as the director of
dark planet Earth
26:38 six World War
[Music]
six billion dead garden planet rich
herself for him back and straight night
street night Jeff Speakman is the
perfect way a cop who does things his
way so you can see it's quite a
well-established director that Warner
Brothers selected for this project yeah
of course this was prints at maybe the
height of his career what a build-up
over okay I would say it already built
up and was now incredibly well
established as one of the kings of pop
and rock and roll yeah yeah and so of
course like every other starlet at this
time they wanted to make a movie and so
Prince got a team together with Warner
Brothers and Purple Rain would be that
result of course the film was made on a
budget of only seven million dollars and
yet would go on to gross more than
seventy million on its opening night in
we give us the synopsis for purple ring
well the story follows prince who plays
the kid the kid is the lead singer of
the revolutions and plays in a small
club with two other bands one of the
band led by Morris day once the kids be
thrown out of the club and so that he
can get all the publicity and all the
money to himself the kids egotistical
nature and his abusive family life
threatens to destroy his band and his
rise to stardom but along comes a young
girl and they strike up a relationship
where the kid has to decide if he wants
to just follow his own rules or look to
help other people around him so
evidently this is a musical and you are
going to be presented with pretty much
the greatest hits of prints up until
this point throughout the film this is a
is it a film designed only to elevate
the status of Prince because with the
result of him now dominating the radio
now we can dominate feared
and then afterwards he can dominate the
home VHS market as well as takeover MTV
this was a launching platform just to
make sure that everyone was well aware
of who Prince was and he was pretty much
a heartthrob
for for everyone at the time especially
when you know he wears these elaborate
outfits yeah and very provocative lyrics
in his words in his songs it does make
him a standout character but at the same
time I mean I got a massive 80s kind of
flashback with this movie I mean like I
said that whole opening montage of
Prince on stage music playing you've got
people with big hair and makeup thighs
and one gloved hands and things like
that but I didn't feel like this was
just Prince you know I felt like like
this is this is the 80s and this is the
time that obviously principles green
coming out so if he had only started
coming out during the 90s he'd probably
have been a lot different obviously with
the passing of Prince this year and the
fact that this guy had such a crazy
lifestyle you know he started off as one
thing then he would become the artist
formerly known as and I remember
actually the first time I ever heard him
was in 1989 or 1990 when I first watched
Batman and his name was splashed all
over the soundtrack and we did the
entire soundtrack for the film I think
under duress of his contract with Warner
Brothers yeah pretty much
using him as much as possible before his
contract would expire yeah and another
with with this film I get a Moonwalker
kind of feel to it you know it's like
yes here here's your big musical star
we're going to thrust them out onto the
screen and they're going to literally be
in every sequence but the difference
with this film to save Moonwalker is
that it does have a bit of a biopic kind
of reality grounding well the film is
very loosely based on the real-life
story of Prince as much as Prince was
willing to share anyway and so the me of
the story is really Prince and Apollonia
is sort of
early relationship and prints dealing
with the horrors of his home life yells
competing with these other band members
in order to secure a spot in this
theater yeah and it's a very tried and
tested story formula it's nothing new
and the way it's presented here is
really really campy because none of the
actors in this film are trained actors I
think there are only two or three actual
trained actors in the film I think both
of them were princes parents and of
course the actress playing Apollonia the
rest were all pretty much playing
themselves yeah they're just musicians
but I mean while I was watching this for
the review I was I was sat there
thinking yeah okay this this this is a
tried and tested story you know he'd
keep the kid is going to be at this
point where he thinks he's so good and
everybody loves his stuff but then he's
going to take a dramatic fall and he's
going to pull himself back up again
towards the end and you know be the big
hero
we know that now back in 1984 that's the
kind of mindset I put myself in there
would be a lot of Prince fans rushing to
the cinema to obviously see him onstage
and here this means because this is
probably the closer you could get unless
you bought the tickets to go see him
live as an actor yeah I'll agree you
know Prince not the greatest actor in
the world he does have this weird look
on his face the first time he sees
Apollonia and I'm just like oh somebody
farted
[Music]
well as a musician yeah I'll salmon when
he performs on stage he could probably
outperform any actor nowadays who tries
to pretend to be a musician absolutely I
mean we get that number right at the
beginning of the filming like yeah okay
you know it's gone on long enough and so
when we get one of these interactions
where he goes outside to his to his
motorcycle and I think the barmaid is
out there yeah and there's this really
stilted sequence of dialogue where she
explains to him that one of the other
band members is given her a sheet of
music or lyrics to pass on yeah Lopez
the delivery of these lines of dialogue
just make it feel like a student made
production it just makes it feel really
really amateur it's a song we said Wendy
wrote wanted to give it to me himself
well I liked it and I wanted to listen
to it they told me to give it to you
when I was done he wasn't doing his best
but it came across with his egotistical
nature you know he's just like oh why
didn't they give me the tape and you're
just like because you're a dick that is
exactly the point that it didn't take
long for me to soon realize that prints
when he's onstage in this film is
majestic yet when he comes off stage he
is one of the biggest assholes ever
portrayed in film he is a sexist
condescending smug arrogant waste of
space and nobody in the film
particularly likes him
except for Apollonia which is just
incredibly creepy it's the way that
these two interact with each other the
first time that she sees him you know
he's just done this number and she
starstruck
she's like that wasn't me notion you can
tell that she's impressed and then
prints sort of walked past her and then
kind of stands right behind guy because
it would be all quarters or sunglasses
all indoors on the air okay your prints
whatever days man it's the 80s and she's
you know and we'll just like she's
watching the
the next band performed and we sit there
for like a minute just waiting for her
to respond or for Prince to say
something and as soon as she works up
the courage to talk to him he's
disappeared if I sniff like a vampire
what I want some perfection and so a few
moments later she's on the back of his
motorcycle and they're driving out to a
lake looks like what moving pretty
quickly
well yeah geez defeat the big star I
mean Apollonia is is playing this girl
who's come from New Orleans I think it
was and she wants to be a star so you
know you always end up in that situation
is if you see somebody else being the
big star and you're immediately
starstruck by them you're like oh my god
they've got everything I won everything
I need and they're just absolutely
amazing but you're like well they got
this ego they think their songs so great
and this is why obviously the band is
starting to fracture because they want
some of the spotlight and that's what I
do like partially about this film is as
the film starts to progress you know he
the kid starts to take it downward
spiral and you start to find out that
his father was a musician but he
flummoxed and failed and so the kid is
kind of following the same path and you
started to think to yourself is he going
to fail or will he actually stop himself
before he could hit hit rock bottom I
told you before you're not backing him
like you used to
nobody did your music but yourself fuck
off yeah okay just like your old man
yeah you've got to tell me I'm wrong but
if you think if you like I think that
Prince is a sexist pig then you're going
to really hate Morris Day and the time
please welcome the time
one see what he has done
damn this guy is one insulting
motherfucker I mean he calls women
bitches you know he treats people like
his subordinates like they're just his
minions Aldrin Oh even has one Jerome
who is just his impeccable Lackey he
will do anything for him
but the two of them are borderline
retarded man J from James Tyler boss
strike back put it best Morris Day is a
smooth pip who loves the pussy and
Jerome is his black man servant and when
I first saw James hellebore Showbox I
didn't understand it as a hunting Purple
Rain now I've seen Purple Rain I'm like
yeah Sam I can dance time I can sing and
he's got all the good shit it's where
did I put my cards on a table when it
comes to me young lady the film vilify
him almost immediately when he's walking
down the street with Jerome and they're
discussing the new act and discussing
how hot these bitches really are and
then what if his ex bitches comes around
the corner and so I was yelling at him
for not getting back to him so it's just
like drug this bitch he picks her up at
Chuck's are in the trash it's like I
happened in broad daylight
no one's not this
such message okay so I guess that's the
villain yeah I just I started to really
enjoy the film the more I got to see
Morris day you know because you know he
is so flamboyant he is he's probably not
as excessive or egocentric 'el as prince
was is not sure how to put it but he's
kind of fun you know it's kind of fun
because you just like that's you know
he's a musician when they get up on
stage and you got 50,000 people scream
at you you are the fucking dude it makes
me laugh so hard when he's up there
doing his song and Jerome comes up with
a mirror bottom of a mirror so they can
check himself out whilst he's performing
I was like god dammit really the line he
uses his pickup line on apollonia when
he comes over to her the whole sequence
were just like yeah I've got a brass
waterbed it's like how exciting okay why
did you say I wish you could see my home
it's it's so exciting
in my bedroom
so the relationship with Prince and
Apollonia sort of escalates and we get a
really stilted softcore sex scene
oh my god was that shit was fucked up I
date yeah I didn't I didn't expect this
they're starting to get close I mean
we've already had a fresh shot from
Apollonia when you get her to jump in a
lake that was a bit weird but we're
talking about Purple Rain a lot of if
she couldn't is for a period but they go
back to his house and I didn't think it
was funny where he's like we need to go
to your place and they've already set up
that Apollonia lives in this run-down
apartment so she doesn't want to go back
there but Prince doesn't want to think
about this place so I'm like where the
fuck you gonna go you know and then they
do go back to Prince's home and he's
like oh there's my parents and the
parents are actually going on which is a
change cuz usually we see the father
just beating up his wife pretty much all
we get to see so it's kind of like a
change
Reggie seeing them together maybe it's
under duress anyway but then Prince lets
off the align that it's a freak show
yeah because they are supposed to be you
know if they drink there all week
together and they're so would there's a
dad so where they died are not entirely
sure because this family sequences were
really really quite sure and I'm just
like okay you need to kind of elongate
them to balance out you need the reality
of the family life to balance out the
craziness of the the stage musical life
because that was a little bit too much
you know the film 75% music on stage and
25% reality and all that kind of stuff
but he takes Apollonia to the basement
and he's like yeah this is Mike this is
my place and it's like oh okay
and they start to kiss and then all of a
sudden Apple only is there and just
throw knickers and princes like 2
centimeters away from probably sticking
his whole hand up there
you
[Music]
I am but you know as as attractive as a
colonia is and she is smoking fine this
sequence just just it doesn't feel
natural it doesn't it just felt so
awkward and so I don't know it doesn't
really seem like there's any kind of
chemistry between either of them and so
it's risque as it was yeah it's just
kind of kind of felt flat they didn't
really do anything the director did say
in the commentary that they filmed three
different sex scenes yeah they filmed
like a PG one
yeah twelve rated one and an r-rated one
and I think it was the r-rated one that
ended up in the film anyway which would
I think when the film came out not sure
if it was classified as a PG or a 15
although years later the film has now
been classified as 815 yeah mainly
because of this sequence and a few other
uses of the word fucking bitch
yeah yeah fog should bitch motherfucker
although towards the end of movies
language starts to come out I'm like
okay you know I'm never going to be
showing this to any children you can't
get away with that it just just to add
to this the craziness of this
relationship and the creep factor of it
yes the prince brings her back to his
place again later on and he decides to
play a piece of music to her and it's
the sound I believe of his ex-lover
crying played back in Reverse to a piece
of music so that to him it sounds like
laughing or and she kind of gets turned
on by it yeah I thought it was the
recording of him making love to somebody
and then he explains that yeah actually
she's crying I'm playing him reversed
and I'm like you were bit weird aren't
you fucking I don't miss the real
killers in movies with less crazy creep
traits than this
[Music]
just climb backward so it makes me sad
when I hear sounds like exactly deadly
so what did you do I mean we are talking
about Purple Rain you know survivor seen
this film because you're a prince fan
and you love the 80s or you highly
highly avoided
this film because of those exact same
reasons but it's for me it's one of
those things where you can put it up
there we'll say like walk the line or
Ray you know and like said moonwalk AIDS
it's these films that musicians decide
to make because they think they can act
and it's like or like I said we've
walked the line and raised like okay we
need to get actors into play these play
these musicians but with those two films
you take a biopic of some of these lives
and you try to make it too dramatic you
try to make it to action-oriented and it
just doesn't seem realistic this one
doesn't seem realistic unless he's on
stage and he's performing and then I'm
like yeah you know I can kind of get
behind it now let's get rid of the kid I
want more a day to come back off
[Music]
the forum obviously was supposed to be a
lot darker in places they did have a
female actress signed up and then she
dropped out and then they send it to
somebody else and she didn't want it and
then they finally set it on the actress
Apollonia but when he hits when the kid
hits
Apollonia you're just like oh damn you
know we're seeing a lot of reflections
of your father and your mother's life
coming breaking into your flamboyant
music musical life and then whoa
his dad is starting to go a little bit
crazy because his mum is cheating or he
thinks she's cheating but she's not and
Prince comes home after trying to I
thought he was trying to rape Apollonia
underneath that bridge well yeah I yeah
he kind of forced himself on her she was
because she said no and many kind of
forces himself on her and she kind of
rejects him a little bit and he slaps
her down to the ground you're just like
you're an asshole
yeah like but you know and he is you
know supposed to be undergoing this
transformation where he realizes that
yet I am turning into my father who also
beats his wife yeah and is also you know
and nobody likes him like father like
son and he just like is he going to
learn from this is he going to grow from
this is the damage already done well I
get to the stage where a dad shoots
himself in the fucking head this is I
mean I don't know what kind of gun he
was using that issue since open the head
and it's like we'll just put a bandage
round it we go rushing to a hospital of
like in the original screenplay for the
film the father was supposed to die in
in that suicide attempt yeah the
producers or the writers or the director
even decided that it may be too harsh of
an ending for the film and so they
decided to change it Tori survived the
suicide attempt I kind of did like that
little bit at the end of the movie where
you see the the clip of prince in the
hospital when the fathers are in the bed
and he got the mother there so you're
just like well that's nice you know
they're starting to rebuild it and
you know after the dad is rushed to
hospital the kid finds all of his
father's old musical notes and then gets
the tape of the girls have made from his
bat and then obviously around that
constructs Purple Rain which I thought
was a really good moment because the
film's called Purple Rain and so a lot
of people might be mistaken that you're
going to go into this film and it's just
going to be fucking purple rain all the
way through like I said with walk the
line with choking Phoenix that walk the
line was used too much in that film yes
they use a lot of other Johnny Cash
songs but walk the line with the name on
in this film they tease the Purple Rain
music throughout yeah because like I
said the two girls are sort of learning
and creating this song yeah which would
eventually be the final performance and
and I didn't think that was quite nice
because he stands up there and he says I
dedicate this to my father and it was
written by these to go so he'd
completely just let go of it you know
his own his own need to be this final
admission of well I mean he's sort of
like before it was I write the music I
play all the instruments I sing the song
yeah I do everything without you know
without me
none of you going to carry on and he
does say to the two girls at one point
that no one's interested in their music
yeah little not those two were in a
lesbian relationship and continued to
perform together as for 20 odd years and
yet they never really received any
recognition as as musicians as much as
they did whilst they were working with
Prince yeah it could have been worse
they could have been in in Apollonius 6
and been singing except she were on
stage in their underwear which was a
really really bad scene but you know he
he does Purple Rain and we get a whole
sequence towards the end of like a
musical concert and then the movies open
house it's like you know what yeah I can
I could go back to the 80s every now and
again well the the final piece to the
film is as said Purple Rain and it is I
think it's like a ten nine - ten minute
sequence of the film yeah and I was
waiting for the credits start rolling up
cuz of the screen Atacama Cara dog
and on and it's captured really well
because at first everyone's expecting
this to be the final performance of the
kid yeah or this band is shooed out and
never coming back and you can see the
crowd sort of warming up to this song
Purple Rain obviously the first time
they've ever heard it and if it's the
first time you've ever heard it watching
the film you're going to be spell struck
because the Purple Reign song is one of
those songs that can mean a multitude of
things to some people it means the end
of the world to other people it means
brand new beginnings and a fresh start
some people it's about the the end of
relationships and death for others it
you know it's at both end of the
spectrum of what that song can mean to
you yeah and that song ends problems and
with the combination of nothing being
resolved in this film that song resolves
all of the problems that the film builds
up without even having to go that's the
ending for that relationship that's how
this is going to go you have song just
pretty much just ends it bookends the
film and everyone is in rapture in a
pause with the performance of the song
of Prince even even Billy the guy who
owns the establishment is you know first
he's unmoved but towards the end it's
just slowly nodding yeah like this is
the fucking number one yeah
[Applause]
[Music]
so say what you will of Prince whether
you're a fan of his music or not you
know there's a couple of songs in
particular which are stand out
especially in this film because the
majority of the film when it's not on
stage is terrible the acting is terrible
the camerawork is terrible boom mics
drop in and out in fisting Lappe yet
once they get back into that
establishment and the lights are on
and the music is playing it's it's
incredibly well captured it is you know
very professionally put together and
it's understandable why music videos
became as huge as they did but all of
the drama outside is just a chore to get
through I have a fair few favorite
scenes in the film a lot of them are
when people are just being assholes to
each other especially Boris and friend
business retail but there's one
particular sequence backstage when
Prince is talking to the rest of his
band and then to himself by a
ventriloquist and you can clearly see
the prince isn't actually reading this
boy's but maybe it's in his head but
anyway that the the monkey in the cup
pretty much just said that life sucks
like that there was I was feeling at the
time for watching the film you don't
need us girls are stupid
all you need is me
man nice bitch
I guess one of my other favorite scenes
in the film is towards the end of the
film where Apollonia sort of had enough
of printers shit and decided that she's
going to have some of Morris's shit
instead and so whilst they're drunkenly
walking down a back alleyway friends
turns up on his motorcycle rides down
and knocks Mars clear into the garbage
swings around like a superhero yells at
Apollonia get on Eli
hey drive off what did you enjoy that
because it was just it was like why did
this action sequence come from like I've
got a few favorite scenes I was quite
surprised I love them Morris and the
time I love the performance of beginning
where they do jungle love you know James
Donna Bob strike back harkens back to
that I love the seem like gary said
where they're walking down the street
and they throw the woman in a dumpster I
really like the sequence where Prince
takes apollonir out to the lake and he
convinces her that she has to purify
yourself and in a lake and so she jumps
in this one and then he tells it that
this is the wrong lake and rides off
because the thing is that after the twat
rides off on his bike I'm just kind of
like what would Brad dick know she's so
good when a freezing cold lake and you
drive off now and then she kind of gets
home and she's starting to get dressed
she falls over and then after a moment
she's like it was quite funny she's
laughing about it but then just to make
it worse when Prince came back it's like
right jump on and then he pulls away a
little bit like remember when she
finally get on the bike he was the one
who were really really
and my final favorite scene is where
Morris and Jerome were trying to work
out a password so that Jerome can tell
Morris when Apollonia turns up to the
club so Morris can flirt with her and I
was in
stitches though they may not be able to
ask but the way Morris and Jerome kind
of work together this whole sequence it
was it was it was comedy gold
demonstrate a password what password
earning here password in what that's
what I'm asking
it's the password password is it the
password is what you just think so pad
where isn't it the password what Dad it
like like okay says some of this stuff
outside of the musical performances is
pretty crappy but it weirdly balances if
it was all about the club it is all
about the performances you get sick and
tired of this film really really quickly
but with the outside relationship it
kind of cement to me that look you know
yeah okay they may live on stage and
they're these great musicians but they
do have real lives to go back to and you
know some lives most lives aren't
perfect and like a monkey says life
sucks I I can only recommend this film
to Prince fans if you're sort of curious
about who Prince was and want to want a
sort of biopic story I guess this is you
know one of the best ones to go to there
is a sequel to this film was sort of an
unofficial sequel if you came out in
1990 which was then written and directed
by Prince he had total total control
over it and it flopped really really
hard considering he won Academy Awards
for music for Purple Rain and then one
Razzie Awards for the follow up graffiti
bridge you have kind of like yeah I
think this story was told in purple ring
I it's it's an interesting film to watch
just to watch again sort of the 80s
encapsulated in a film yeah because it
very much just rings true to all of the
you know all the best things about 80s
films the acting in it is terrible the
music in it is phenomenal the the drama
in the film is hammy and camp and some
of the characters are downright creepy
and offensive but you know there is a
sort of quirky nature to the film that
does kind of make it fun
and in some levels you could enjoy this
as a great terrible film and so I had my
reservations about even wanting to watch
the film I can honestly say that I I
think that Prince is an icon and I think
what he did for the music industry will
he touched millions he's touched the
hearts and souls of billions and will do
so for generations to come
this film is you know it's not it's not
a stain on his career but it's not the
shining moment either I guess you know
just the work just the performance of
proko reign at the end and just to say
that you know like 90% of all of the
songs were recorded live whilst they
were shooting the film now it just
really goes to show the talent and
creative energy that prince had onstage
more and sort of the film also captures
some of the troubled life style choices
that he made especially influenced by
his father and his home life and the
scenes between him and his father again
they're not the greatest but they do
give you some insight into perhaps
Prince's background because he was very
elusive and shy person when it actually
came talking to the cameras about what
was going on in his life dealing with
the mega stardom what started at the age
of 19 so Wow Purple Rain is in it is an
interesting film because it captures
some of these things it's just not done
to the at the highest in the highest
level but it's still enjoyable Prince
fan or not I I recommend this film like
like what Gary said if you're a fan of
the 80s you know this and you've never
seen this you need to watch this to get
just to relive it again if you're a fan
of Prince and you've never seen this you
have to it's it's kind of part of this
history at the same time you know if
this film is kind of cinematic history
like you said you know principle is an
icon this film made fucking millions you
know it boosted his stardom up to be
able to do the soundtrack for Batman
beta for was freaking awesome you know
he artist formerly known as and all of
that kind of stuff people fans of Prince
would say that they went and watched him
in constantly
which is blown away by his performances
I like I said I feel that this film is
slightly more enjoyable than then then
Moonwalker and and walk the line and Rea
which can kinda get a little bit over
the top with the way that they're trying
to make these people's lives seem more
exciting than them but they were the the
balance of the the relationships outside
of the club yeah there is a bit of a
chore to get through but then at the
same time it shows you if you're a
rising musician Musical star it will
show you that it's not all fucking
rainbows and unicorns to get to where
you want to be you know it's actually
quite a hardship you've got to work for
it you've got to listen to your band
you've got to work with everybody
relationships will falter some of them
will strengthen as a bonus Morris Day
and the time are the fucking bond and
you have to see it just for Morris Dane
if you're not a fire bridge
what Morris tell you he is a badass
motherfucker thanks for watching
off-the-shelf reviews
[Music]
thing
yeah
[Music]
hey wait a minute that
that ain't Lake Minnetonka

I keep hearing that there’s not enough diversity
in the movie business.
Gender discrimination in Hollywood.
Women have less screen time
Actors agree there’s a problem.
It’s a systematic bias that needs to be addressed
Good!
They’re really working on diversity.
Except there’s one kind of diversity
they never talk about: diversity of thought.
[Alien talking]
In Hollywood, it seems you have to think a certain way.
[Champagne bottle popping]
First, you must sneer at capitalism.
[laughing]
In all these movies, capitalism is evil.
In this one, greedy miners will destroy a planet
to get these rocks.
This is why we’re here.
Because this little grey rock
sells for $20 million a kilo.
To get the rocks, they’ll kill
the beautiful, spiritual natives.
Those savages are threatening our whole operation.
Director James Cameron
is now making another Avatar movie.
He says, “the mining company will be the villain again.”
Avatar 2 and 3?
2, 3, 4, 5.
Movie makers are so hostile to capitalism,
they butcher basic facts.
In Amazon’s just-released Season 2
of Jack Ryan, the hero asks this about Venezuela.
Why is this country in the midst of one of
the greatest humanitarian crises in history?
Socialism?
No.
The show’s answer is nationalism.
After rising to power on a wave of nationalist
pride this guy has crippled the national economy.
“Nationalist pride…"
No mention of socialism.
And, of course, the savior is a social justice warrior.
Gloria is a history professor turned activist.
She’s running against him on a social justice platform.
This reverses reality.
Venezuela suffers because they voted for socialism.
Es possible socialismo!
We welcome today Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
[applause]
Hollywood’s documentaries also celebrate the left.
[music]
She's become such an icon.
Would you mind signing this copy?
Justice Ginsberg is impressive.
But so is Justice Thomas.
Would Hollywood ever praise him like this?
The closest thing to a superhero I know.
This love for the left frustrates the few
actors who lean right.
Most fear saying anything because they’d lose work. But
One man dared to challenge their power.
Hercules.
Kevin Sorbo, who starred in the “Hercules” TV series,
spoke up about his conservative views.
What happened?
All of a sudden the calls, less and less calls.
My agent said we'd better part ways
and I went, "Wow, okay,"
and I made a lot of money for these guys.
Did you ask him, why do we have to part ways?
Well, I knew why, they told me why.
They were pretty straight forward about it.
“being Christian conservative in Hollywood
is kind of a death sentence”?
It's like being a double leper, is what it's like.
What do you mean a double leper?
They want nothing to do with me.
He’s even been banned from conventions.
“I turned down Sorbo… He’s pals with Sean Hannity.”
You've been banned from Comicon?
They have their hate, right?
They're the ones who say,
"We need to be tolerant, we need to have love,"
and all this kind of stuff...
They're the most anti-tolerant people
and hateful people that we have right now.
So much so that even the liberal media
has noticed the bias.
Just the last 10 years, it's just exploded.
Are you even more ruthless than you used to be?
Every movie I've ever seen now,
every TV show I seem to see,
doesn't matter what it is,
there's always some point, someplace,
where they'll pretty much degrade anybody who's
conservative or Republican.
Here’s President Bush.
So we going to do this thing or what?
I mean, is this happening?
We can make this work.
[laughing]
Hot damn.
They want to make him as dumb
and as hick-y as possible.
Let’s go. Let's go.
Sorbo’s annoyed that directors now shove
women into what had been male parts.
And that even superhero movies
push the politically correct message.
The women are always saving the men around here.
You might want to think about changing the name
to X-Women.
It was created as X-Men
and they had female characters in there,
but that was the title.
We're in this business now of rewriting everything,
we want to rewrite history.
It's not even politically correct,
it's politically insane.
The recent movie about the first trip to the moon
leaves out the planting of the American flag.
Why would the movie makers leave the flag
raising out of the movie?
This was widely regarded in the end,
as a human achievement.
This is a human achievement.
It was a human achievement,
an American human achievement.
Ryan's Canadian.
They want to sell movies in China and other places,
why shove the American flag in their face?
I just think it’s childish.
I think it's ridiculous.
Sorbo’s response to Hollywood bias
was to produce movies likes this:
Fill in the papers I've just given you with
three little words: God is dead.
I can't do what you want. I'm a Christian.
This movie was very successful.
God Is Not Dead,
cost 2 million and made 60 million.
Made 70, 70 in theaters.
It made 140 million worldwide.
His upcoming movie is about
two con men who find religion.
In Jesus' name we pray.
Other Conservative and Christian movies do well, too.
Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ
is America’s highest-grossing R-rated film ever.
[music]
Many of those films are not my kind of movies,
but Sorbo makes a good point:
Hollywood is absurdly biased.
Maybe, market competition will bring some balance.
Wherever there was evil, there would be Hercules.
I hope you all like and share this video.

years ago when they had the fiftieth
anniversary of her birth yeah yeah isn't
that scary well I think you've noticed
that the birds are a bit better behaved
these days although we have a problem
with bats Oh up here yes
specifically in this house Oh in this
particular house bats in belfry but
we're thinking of making a film and
we're gonna call it the bats oh I did a
play called the bat this was 1922 use
her name now huh wait 1922 you are not
old enough to have been in no no but the
play was written in 1922 yes and it was
called the bat it was sort of a Miss
Marple kind of play oh did you play that
Miss happy yes I did yes there it there
was a murderer and the guy that did it
they called him the bat well this sounds
like a wonderful film play it was a play
I play what anybody film it know about
my performances is there not save for
perpetuity well sometimes they are but
not their sisters it should have been if
you're in it no I'm so impressed with
your resume it's like you saw their
acting in 1958 right listen you have not
stopped know anything working for time
actually the first thing I did was
actually 1957 and it was a Zane Grey
theater and the guest star was Barbara
Stanwyck yeah so she's no longer with us
who she no she's not with us anymore
that terrible and then I did commercials
and things like that
kelex girl obviously Kellogg's girl and
now you're doing Creature Features and
now I'm doing creature foods Louise
never get to this film which is the Tara
with with mr. Nicholson Nicholson Jack
Nicholson I love him I do to his
absolutely wonderful I think it cept his
ex-wife
maybe they don't love him but everyone
else I think they probably still look -
yes he's just that kind of a guy that's
what I like about Hollywood everybody
loves each other okay that's a little
different we've got the bat problem all
right we're gonna start this film and
then when we come back we are gonna talk
to you about lotsa I I don't even know

and welcome back to creature features we
are watching the Tara with miss Veronica
caught right Jack Nicholson was quite
young in this film I mean he was what
and handsome wish for a man of his years
but enough about this movie I want to
talk about you in your movies and
specifically the birds I love that film
yeah it's a classic total classic and
this was like when you first big roles
maybe I hit down a movie called The
Children's Hour with Audrey Hepburn and
Shirley MacLaine and James Garner's
first movie and I guess Alfred Hitchcock
happened to see it and requested meeting
me and so I went to his bungalow I own
Universal lot how old are you I was 12
and so I went in and I I met him and he
just told me his favorite white I was
born in Bristol in England and his
favorite I am British and his favorite
wine cellar was in Bristol so he
proceeded to tell me the names of wines
and things like that how to cook his
holy room 12 year old knows how to cook
a steak this would be very important for
when I got married some day he was
hysterical I he just talked to me I mean
he was really wonderful to me I could
ask him any questions about how things
were being done like the jungle gym
scene where there's all the birds come
and they start climbing on there well
how do they do that well there were real
birds but there were also cardboard
birds and fake birds I look on the film
I can't see you can't see it and I said
to him are people going to notice all
the wires there were fake birds but
they'd put real birds in there he says
your eye sees motion and you assume
everything is alive and it's absolutely
true I watched that movie now and you
cannot tell where the fake birds are
they did a wonderful wonderful job
considering but yeah I mean if they did
that film now they're all CGI and they
look like a cartoon
right right well so how long were you
out here I was in they put his up in
Santa Rosa and I guess we were we shot
the majority of the movie I guess it was
a couple of months and and then we of
course went to bodega bay but there
weren't any hotels or anything anything
like it doesn't and it was great though
when I went back for the 50th
anniversary they asked me to come the
guys who run the general store there
they have a whole memorabilia sexual
really not the tides well the the tides
are still there right but there's a
little general store and they have a
next to it a whole memorabilia thing for
the birds the mannequin of Hitchcock yes
yes yes and so they showed the movie
people came in from Germany it was just
so interesting people came in from all
over and the schoolhouse had actually
been saved by the people that live there
now as parents her mother and father and
they bought it because it was going to
be sold somebody because it was all made
out of Hart redwood which is and which
is very rare and people wanted and they
but they saved it and there was a
bed-and-breakfast for a while
it's a residence it's a residence yeah
she lives there there's a ghost that
lives there too it's haunted it's
haunted and and it's been on that Ghost
Busters thing and things like that yes
totally fascinating and they opened it
up it hadn't been opened for nine years
but and they set up all the pictures of
the filming and birds and mold and it
was very cool it was very very cool
tippy tippy came in because she happened
to be at the tides at the same time so
typic came in as a surprise visit and i
guess for me it's really cool you know
they have that event every few years
yeah to see it yeah all right well let's
get back to this film when we come back
we're going to talk some more about this
and your other films but right now we
got to get back to the Tara
Jack Nicholson I'd rather talk to
Veronica Cartwright but we have to watch
this film because it's this is a
so you stay with us you stay with us and
we shall return
[Music]

God knows help is a very rare thing in
this forest take it whenever it's
Harvard rule
that bird the attack me I'm afraid
you're wrong
she's quite harmless yeah the only
serious danger
actually she's very affectionate which
is very unusual didn't you
this is good stuff they brought you here
goes down and you're home
where is Helene this is not the bird the
girl where is the girl
there is no good of course there's a
girl I saw her she spoke to me perhaps
you were tired from your long journey
and and had a pleasant illusion mister
have you ever seen a girl here
Christophe sometimes imagines things if
he could speak I think we would find
that his mind is warped such as the
little guy to him down and deprive only

[Music]
in the name of the government of France
I order you to open this store your
pardon young sir I visit by devotions I
did not hear you I'm sorry sir but
surely I made enough noise to awaken the
dead the government of France I've seen
the uniforms of many governments in my
time
what would a soldier of France be
wanting here shelter for one thing
permit me to introduce myself
lieutenant Andre Duvalier v a sir Baron
Victor Frederick von leppe I suggest you
will find better shelter at the village
Thank You Baron but I've had my fill of
village inns surely you wouldn't want to
inconvenience a French officer come in
what you see lieutenant the remains of a
noble house relics ghosts of past
glories
a noble heritage is something to be
proud of there I'm afraid we forgotten
that in France
oh yes your name Duvalier yet your
family my father was the Comte de ballet
was until they spilled his head into a
basket one morning in the plasti la
concorde forgive me for reviving painful
memories you must be cold and tired
lieutenant
some cognac I'd like that baron thank
you sit down yes baron
cognac for our guests yes ma'am baron I
wonder if I might ask who was the young
woman I saw in the window before you
came to the door young woman oh I'm
afraid you're mistaken no I'm not
mistaken I saw her dark hair and eyes
about 20
quite sure you think you saw someone but
and I am in full possession of my
faculties please allow me to show you
something you should never believe
everything your eyes tell you we are man
is that the girl you think you saw yes
of course before you say anything else
examine the portrait closely the
signature and above all the date 1786
but that's 20 years ago it's incredible
it's the same girl and she hasn't
changed a bit she has been dead for 20
years
with all respect ban for a ghost she's a
very active young woman you're speaking
of the baroness von leppe my wife I beg
your pardon baron I meant no offense
perhaps the resemblance was not quite as
much as I had thought the girl at the
window lieutenant Duvalier the only
occupants of this castle are Stefan and
myself you were the first visitor since
the turn of the century course baron
Stefan will see you to your room thank
you

and welcome back to creature features we
are still here with miss Veronica caught
right so miss Veronica I really loved
you in invasion of the body snatchers
oh thank you then you are not in the
1957 or whatever version the original
you are in the 1972 no no no 75 I think
it's 75 no 76 look it up later I think
the best version of that phone what was
so interesting about it was it was like
a continuation because the Kevin
McCarthy who is in the original one came
was in the running down the street and
smashed into the car the donald
sutherland and brooke Adams were driving
I do not know he says they're coming
they're coming and hit with hidden by
the car their car yeah so it was like it
was a Laker game no I'm so sorry
but at least the the pods weren't like
big corn cobs like they had the first
one they were carrying the maroon like
they were children and big corn cob I
mean mr. bring out the butter now we had
these little ones these little cute ones
it had flowers and whiskers on them so
what was it like filming in San
Francisco
it was I had it was a great experience
and Phil Kaufman he's just he's just
wonderful
yeah he's the director Neil so I was in
the right stuff also that Phil did you
in that film as well yeah but Phil was
great and I met Donald Sutherland he's a
riot
he decided for his character that he had
to have curly hair if you remember it
was very careless born so he but he
didn't want to get a perm so every
morning they would have to set his
hair and pink curler rods so we do all
her rehearsals with him and pink curlers
he chose this
he chose this and then three weeks
before we finished he says oh okay go
ahead give me a perm he was just so
eccentric like mr. Brady on the Brady
but not at the beginning of the series
like later on no but it the whole movie
was really it was really terrific and
then that whole end scene I didn't know
that was going to happen
so when you say you did not know it was
well I was told one thing by Phillip he
walked around the block with me and just
told me what you know with what he has
sort of felt the scene was about and
stuff like that but he'd told Donald an
entirely different thing so I thought I
was safe that's why I approached him
with because I realized that if you
showed any emotions then you were going
to be who caught by the pot people so
the whole thing was to just be as you
know quiet as possible and the weird
thing was I I mean I say Matthew meth
and I think he's okay it's cool he's won
you know
doctors think this me as an actress and
as this character I'm thinking this and
then all of a sudden he lit out that's
great I totally flipped out thought that
once that was it so this was a natural
reaction total natural reaction to what
he he did I did not a scary part of that
at all and if you think think about it
there was an another soul in that tongue
no sort it was they did in yeah they did
it up by the presidio in that Museum
section and there's all the thick trees
and rundown there's not one other person
around and so I thought maybe they'd do
a sequel but they didn't ask me as the
survivor that would have been nice
Manette but then years later I did
invasion with the Nicole Kidman and
Daniel Craig movie I just saw that one I
love that one as well
and Oliver speakership eagle yeah here's
he's terrific
so this was similar phone well it was
interesting because I think they
wouldn't admit to doing homage
sort of like to the fact that I had been
in the original one and so in a sense I
think the character was kind of like I
had you know changed my look and I have
figured I'd sort of gone into you know a
relationship where I was being like pod
like and then all of a sudden my
husband's ends up being you know that's
amazing how they've connected these
three films uh-huh yeah absolutely
incredible well now we got to connect
back to the Tara because it's I'm
getting a signal we have to get back to
the movie I would rather just talk to
Veronica all night just so you know so
I've seen this movie before but I know
you haven't so I can't be rude okay

gonna get back to Veronica caught right

[Music]
you
[Music]
[Music]
I kept to the shadows so he did not see
me it's a strange one though he doesn't
know fear or even leave it what do you
think perhaps she's not merely a
traveler
why do you say that he might have heard
things in the village
Oh nonsense he's a soldier he doesn't
listen to old wives tales
the important thing is to believe with
all due speed I shall say to itself
father these are the cold he was showing
the respect his position and rank demand
output I understand sir
[Applause]
so must return on it dead it's well it's
a living if i intrude instead and I
shall leave it to my host to so inform
me why have you come to Castle von leppe
what do you want here you seem to have
things strangely confused in your mind
you're the servant not I I'll ask the
questions just once a place of worship
why have the holy objects been removed
the bow noted it when his wife the
dinosaurs have passed away then this
became her tomb
no just the entrance to it if I'm left
family crypt lies below beneath the
cemetery she rests there with four
centuries of mana let's that's been
sealed for twenty years nine things must
have been open last night the girl must
have passed through here that's the back
told you sir there is no no girl oh we
shall see come with me to the stable
Stefan I wish to attend to my horse
wait look this that's what I came to
tell you your horse is gone I probably
bolted during the night impossible
you're lying why no sir I'm not lying
hear me well Stefan I'm sick of all of
these lies first the old woman then the
baron and now you old woman you may
never mind what about my horse I shall
get you another one from the village at
once sir believe me lieutenant I have no
desire to interfere with your departure
from this castle to be rid of me
is it because you're afraid I might find
out about Erik
Eric so there is an Eric that at least
was not a lie lieutenant please don't
involve yourself in these dead matters
there is nothing here but an old man and
his decaying memories I beg of you leave
them in peace
[Music]
you joy be Nutella no thank you back
I've just come from the stables my horse
is gone your horse is gone yes I believe
it was stolen there Oh possible good a
stable door perhaps left open to the
animal boat not about usual thing in
itself no but there are certain other
mysteries I would like to have explained
Baron and I mean to have them explain
how dare you take that tone with me I
don't mean to be abrupt but I will have
answers well now why did you remove the
portrait of the Barons from the wall I
said it away for renovation the the
dampness of these walls put the mold on
the pigment you evade very cleverly
baron can you also explain the violin
music and the girl in the chapel last
night he was all huggin so you admit
there's a girl it's not Ilsa is that her
name answer me baron please please leave
me in peace if I leave you now baron I
will come back with the company of my
men and I will tear this place down
around your ears until I find her is
that clear Betty yeah alright now what
happened to the Baroness was her death
violent yes
her death was violent how did she die
you spare me nothing 20 years ago I was
not the man you're looking at now this
land this estate prospered my people
lived well they were happy
my wife had died some years before and I
was lonelier and one day in the village
I saw Ilsa a peasant girl will come to
live there with her mother oh I could
have taken her nobles have taken the
daughters of peasants since the
beginning of time but I loved her and
she became the Baroness von leppe almost
immediately afterwards I was called away
for military service rebellion in the
Polish products I was gone for nearly a
year when the fighting was over I
hurried home to my bride
no one knew of my coming that I
surprised her in the room she was not
alone she laughed at me said her bed was
not for me to find another my own hand
and her lover Stefan took care of her
later I gave out a story that she died
some ballets no one ever knew of her
betrayal of me or how in fact she did
except for Stefan twenty years have not
said for beyond the walls of this castle
I've lived here alone memory of the
dreadful thing I did that this is your

guests of the show stay in the flamingo
conference Resort & Spa in Santa Rosa
[Music]
and welcome back to creature features
we're watching the Tarot with Jack
Nicholson and Boris Karloff oh we're
watching it with Miss Veronica caught
right down Boris Karloff he was this is
like one of his last roles I believe
really I didn't realize that yeah he was
British was leaked well maybe it wasn't
I don't know it was good but in the end
I think he was Russian maybe I know she
ever meet him
no never met him he seemed like such a
nice man except for the parts that he
plays he was the original Frankenstein
right yes yeah well speaking of monsters
you in Alien I was the original first
the best yes yes absolutely no CGI none
none no CGI whatsoever
everything was it was beautifully short
movie oh it was something incredible and
everything was built to actual size so
what was it like shooting in space at
Shepperton studios where we took over
the largest soundstage and that was a
bit enormous oh well we took up that the
desert scene was just the largest
soundstage ever and they brought in sand
and everything was actual size when John
Hurt comes down and drops down he was
actually up in the rafters of the
soundstage and drops down and I mean it
was everything was done actually were
you surprised at the reaction to the
film when it was released well when we
first started doing it we just assumed
it was like a b-movie and that's what I
think the budget was 11 million dollars
and once they saw 20 minutes of the film
and saw how incredible it was and they
sunk another you know eight or ten
million into it so when you think about
it the movie was done for like twenty
million dollars oh and it's it's made
that it's more oh yeah oh well I won't
go there so you had some great parts in
this film
I mean the whole chest scene on the
table yeah
that was sort of a well it wasn't really
a surprise because we'd read the script
and we all know something was coming out
but the way they did it was we were all
upstairs in our dressing rooms for about
four hours Harry Dean Stanton was
playing this guitar everybody was
walking around because they had to take
make a chest for John Hurt and then pack
it and so that took about four hours to
do that and then we were brought on to
the set which was entirely covered with
plastic there were four cameras so that
they could cover do all of the cousins
thoughts of God the big buckets of awful
the stench was just a major gag as you
wasn't done too much oh it was not real
blood but it was he was packed with you
know guts awful I mean you know kidneys
and hearts and and it was all in
formaldehyde and it was just I was real
yep disgusting and so they started to
film it and of course we were all so
fascinated by what was happening and
this chest thing starts to come out I'm
sorry overall looking at it and then
they realized that it wasn't going to
breakthrough on the actress oh that in
stopped everything and they cut the
chest part a little bit more on the
t-shirt and everything like I'm sitting
here what what we're all standing around
of why they do this and I was told I get
a little blood on me I had no idea I was
so fascinated watching what was going on
and forward right into a blood jet so it
just hit me square in the face that's
what I oh my god I backed up and I hit
the banquette with the backs of my knees
and I flipped over the top at the
banquette and I just the two cowboy
boots were sticky no I thought oh shit
you know I turned around and I got back
up and I continued to act but the
outtakes were hysterical I bet it was
Stephanie I'm just there way
like disappeared it's hysterical yeah so
I mean in the sense I guess oh I didn't
know what was going to happen we all
read the script so we knew something was
going to happen but no it was that blood
jet in the face and I guess that now has
become a classic moment it was a
wonderful moment I mean the guts I
didn't know they were real I figured
they'd use plastic oh no no no no no
where there was no no no special effects
just let's throw a bunch of blood at
miss Veronica Cartwright and laugh as
she reacts oh dear I tell you it was
funny years later I worked with the same
special effects man on a movie and he
apologizes sure my goodness well that
said that's absolutely wonderful and you
did not do the second and third because
well I was dead I mean I'm in the second
one as a picture remember I was the last
person to die it could have brought you
back as it goes I don't know there's a
ghost in this film the terror yes and
I'm getting the signal we got to go back
to it I I want to just talk to Veronica
Carter can we just talk to Veronica
Cartwright oh let's forget the film that
was of you at home won't mind will you
all right now they want to see the rest
of the film so we're gonna watch the
rest of the film so you stay with us
we're gonna be watching Nicky's film
instead of talking to talk to her while
you know these movies are shorter in
those days they were yeah I like that
all right we'll be right back
[Music]

have promised Emma Richard
[Music]
good afternoon
who are you an appropriate question but
I'm afraid I'm the one who should be
doing the asking
I'm invited in of course what you want
of me
you realize that this is the property of
the baron victor von leppe and that is
forbidden for any of the villages to set
foot here much less make it their home
how long have you been living here only
two months perhaps I should tell you you
see I've just come from Kleinschmidt
where you are not totally unknown you've
lived here slightly more than two years
your name is Katerina and you originally
come from kolben where you were quite
unpopular because of certain activities
they call you Katerina the heretic the
witch they were fools why do you live
here what do you want I haven't any
money this was the only place that
wasn't burned to the ground so I I
brought my things in here where did you
find a girl no girl I saw her she was
sitting in this chair no girl I know
what she is old woman I know what she is
listen to me and listen to me very
carefully I don't know what you want or
do I fully understand your black
abilities but if the two of you have not
returned to colburn within one night I
shall come back here and kill you with
my own hands and burn this place to the
ground once and for all and you know who
once lived here all those years ago you
know who lived here Erik
thank God no I know he now refuses to
leave I don't think he will leave of his
own accord he must I gave you definite
orders baron no one knows this all
facility r if he should never arrived in
copelan are you suggesting that it's the
only way that I will never come too much
God knows I have enough upon my
conscience for that the senseless murder
of a young man who never harmed me how
do you know what Hani plans you want him
wandering around the castle do you want
him down in the crypt enough a crypt is
no concern of yours

[Music]
welcome back to creature features we are
still watching the terror with Miss
Veronica caught right now we were
talking during the break about this
whole Jack Nicholson thing in you and
him in witches of eastwick yes and
you're telling me that he offered you up
for that role well I didn't know that
until I got it I was the part with
fantastic Felicia she is the one who's
sort of taken over by the I know that
he's the devil and the more I tried to
expose him and tell the other girls
share Susan Sarandon and Michelle
Pfeiffer I'm sort of ruining his plans
for what he wants out of them and so
because I become very verbal so he makes
me look like I'm totally insane and I
hadn't it was interesting because I have
this whole scene where I vomit the
cherry pits as he's eating cherries in
the swimming pool all right Nicole they
they're all eating cherries and he has
me then I start pure spewing up these
cherries when individually and then
finally out and I go in the same with
these cherry pits no tell me this is the
same special effect man that did the
whole alien thing with the no no no no
this wasn't no it wasn't that was a
different we don't need to talk about
that this was Industrial Light and Magic
that didn't well actually I did cherry
pits the big buckets of cherries and I
threw them on my face and stuff like
that and there's special parts and then
when they had the big projectile that
was a tube that went up my down my arm
into my thing so that when they went
like this it shot out well it was
perfect the first time that we did it
the second time because they had to
change my wardrobe had to redo my hair
everything like that
I guess the gas built up too much in the
the tanks so I went like this and
nothing happened and then it came out
with such force that might armed ready
chuckling quietly sprayed over the top
of the satin I love the camera and I
could not control my arm somebody
capable why isn't it coming out so they
just I got my arm just flailing around
all over oh let's give her a little
blood let's give her some cherries I'm
surprised you still have all your
specialist you're not like Michael
Jackson you go halfway oh it was a
terrible Pepsi commercial but so this
this particular role you would like bad
guy but you were the good guy
well people thought I was nuts and
insane but in actuality I was the only
one that was telling the truth right
knew that I it was interesting cuz when
I went from my audition they took me
into Cambridge Massachusetts and I met
George Miller and I was lucky enough to
do my audition with Richard Jenkins who
played my husband in Lille and of course
the the scene was the first scene we did
was a snowy egret scene and where will
they nest and stuff like that and then
the second scene was the actual throwing
up scene so I said well how far do you
want me to go in this and I'd like to
see it so I thought okay this whole
thing and Richard Jenkins and afterwards
when I left he says we couldn't believe
it you just did it was totally cool so I
ended up getting the proper spot and
then John George afterwards he told me
he said you have a huge advocate and
Jack Nicholson he said I insist that you
see this person because she will be he
always felt in the book it was a very
older much older person but he felt she
was a contemporary she was really the
fourth witch and so that's the way they
ended up playing it and I'd learned I
had a ball on that movie it was so much
fun I mean you just don't get parts like
that very often
it's now been
that he is thirty years it's that
frightening it seems like yesterday I
know it does
you haven't changed it all is alright we
got to get back to the film it's almost
over a gift to me and perhaps you know
this is actually a wonderful film I I do
like this film it's it's very well made
it's like they used real cameras instead
of like these cheap ones that we see in
these black-and-white movies where they
cannot hold color film oh we're gonna
get back to that then we're gonna get
back to you and then we're gonna say
goodbye for the night and sadly we'll
have to say goodbye to miss Veronica but
let's first see some more of their
terror stay with us
[Music]
[Music]

him since the Polish campaign but it's
true then you must have been in this
castle for 20 years you must know every
section of the estate he's regaining
consciousness

a lie
the Baron did return at night to find
Eric with the Baroness and he did kill
her but there was a struggle and in the
fight it was not Eric who died but the

mention with the uses the actual
entrails Jack Nicholson would never
allow that I don't think I think if Jeff
Wilson was on a lien he would have said
no she's my friend you cannot do this
before I met him so all right he was
just some bad back then so moving
forward for you what do you got going on
well I found I found out that I'm going
to return as Cassandra spender in
x-files oh they're doing 10 new episodes
and I guess they're bringing back the
conspiracy theory because I was part of
the conspiracy theory in it back it was
like the entire show is a conspiracy no
no no there's actually I think there's
something like 13 episodes that were
conspiracy theory which is kind of hard
to believe
because I mean things all connected but
they came out with an actual compact
disc of all the conspiracy theory
episodes well your character in that
show I remember you started in a
wheelchair I started a wheelchair and I
had that thing in the back my neck one
of those now do you have one that's
right I don't have mine but then you
come back and you walk and I walk and I
am the one who gives him all the
information or Scullion and David
Duchovny's character the the whole thing
about what the aliens look like there's
the greys there's the golden ones and
then there's the ones that drip the oil
which are the ones that attack I know
Steve I didn't know about this I
remember they came and they attacked on
the bridge when I ascended into space
yes and so how are you gonna return oh
you can't tell us I don't know I haven't
read the script yet but they've just
they've called to see if I can come back
and breathe we do my character fresh yes
you're excited I am I just I loved her
she was so
and being married of course 2x my
ex-husband is smoking man right and
well I thought so with that scud missile
but he came back when they'd spent six
episodes so obviously he didn't know me
I mean I thought he was big on that
cabin blew up and the scud missile hit
that's but no he returned hisses he's
like he's like the secondary
he's just right there all of a sudden
it's like he's gone and he's back and
it's it's a different guy but it's the
same guy and I don't know if I Geoffrey
is coming back Jeffrey spender who is my
son remember he ended up being an evil
person that was my son who was there in
the hole he was an evil son oh he was
evil yeah I think he was the boss was me
no he wasn't the boss no well now I have
to watch this series all over now we
have to watch it on myself I cannot
watch your return unless I know what
happened before when I forgot it's been
some time so it's running them off yeah
so I have to watch aliens I have to
watch invasion of the Body Snatcher
you've got my weekend I'm so glad I
named several films I'm gonna have my
own personal Veronica Cartwright Film
Festival Oh
in the dead and maybe Livingston will
join me if he makes it a public one but
he doesn't like popcorn
yeah German Janet I don't know they
don't like popcorn well miss Veronica
Cartwright I want to thank you again for
for coming in and joining us you've been
one of our favorite guests I know you're
the favorite guess who our sound man
because he loved alien so much she just
saw two weeks ago this is interesting
but we want you to come again so if
you're in the area maybe for the 100th
anniversary jeez I think you'll still be
I don't know about me you'll do it right
oh sure sure I'll come with my Walker
yes there are you flying you'll have a
flying walker by then it'll be like the
23rd century or something like that
right all right we want to thank you for
watching the film with us it was
wonderful wonderful movie wonderful
guest this was like a 10
tensho for us so imagine if you'd been
watching Saturday night long if you
would have missed it have a pleasant
weekend and we'll see you next time
so it's Veronica I'm thinking if they
ever do another aliens film perhaps
there might be a role that I could
portray hmm I think it'd look wonderful
wearing a face hooker
